The technology allows for elaborate booths, and exhibitors can get overwhelmed when they begin building the virtual booths. This may be the first time they have used this platform, or they may just be stunted by the number of options they have available to customize their booth. Providing them with a template allows them to simply plug and play with their own content, or gives them a starting structure which they can get really creative with.
Focus on Booth Homepage
The booth homepage is the first thing attendees will see when they land in the virtual booth, so it's best to put the biggest focus on the homepage. Here are some things to keep in mind when building a booth homepage:
- Include a 2D Booth, and provide a place for branding, a place for an embedded video, several links to content, and links to calls to action. Exhibitors can customize the hotspots any way they wish, but it's a good idea to provide them with some suggestions for some or all of the hotspots.
- Include a section to highlight important content. Some suggestions can be product literature, product demonstrations, webinar recordings, white papers, or data sheets.
- Always include a few obvious calls to action on the homepage. This could include a means for the attendee to fill out a contact form, schedule a meeting, subscribe to a newsletter, or enter a raffle.
Typical Booth Layout
There is no one correct way to structure a booth, but there are some elements we recommend including, and some common structures we've seen be successful. In addition to the homepage, a typical booth also includes the following:
- A page or section to educate the visitor about the company. An "About Us" page can include a paragraph or two about the organization, their mission statement, or company history.
- A central place with company contact information, staff biographies, and an easy way visitors to reach out to the booth. A "Contact Us" page like this should highlight contact information for key members of the organization and an easy means, like a form, for visitors to contact the booth.
- A page to organize all content, like videos, PDFs, product demos, etc.
- A page or section that lets the visitor interact directly with the booth. This could be a "Schedule a Meeting" page with instructions for how the visitor can schedule time to meet with the booth, or a page with direct access to a networking lounge where visitors can meet face to face within the booth.
